Viewing Student Writing
Step One:
Click here to open a new window to follow along with the tutorial. Select "edtech" instructor from the list.
|
Step Two:
Login as the "edtech" instructor. Type in the password "edtech" and click submit. |
|
Step Three:
This is your class. Let's start by looking at student work. Click "summary" of any student. |
| Step Four:
Here you will see all the projects assigned to a student (both discussions and process writing). You can tell by looking under the right hand column if they have worked on each project and the date of the last submission. Click one of the "Discussion" pieces that are completed.
| Step Five:
You will see what the student wrote on this discussion under the banner that says "Writing." You will notice on this piece that the piece has been hidden by the teacher (that is done under the project). Hidden means the teacher can see it, but the rest of the class cannot.
|
Step Six:
Click back in your browser. This time select the rough, revised or final draft of a writing piece. |
|
Step Seven:
You can view the students work under the "Writing" banner. There you can respond, edit and even hide the piece.
Under the "Responses" banner you can see all the comments others have made. Here too you can edit, and hide the response. |
Responding Step One:
Click "Respond to this writing". Check out suggestions on how to respond to to writing. |
|
|
Step Two:
Enter your response in the box provided and click "review" when finished. |
Here you can "submit it" "edit it", or "skip it". |
|
|
Step Four:
You can see that your comment has been added by the blue text at the top. Also if you scroll down the page you will see your response. |
| Step Five:
You have now viewed student writing and responded. When you are finished be sure to go to the top toolbar and "logout". |
